والثاني أن القرارات الكبيرة تُحسم في الغرفة. حين تختلف المالية والعمليات على تعريف واحد، لا يُحسم ذلك بمكالمة مسجلة؛ يُحسم بجلسة يحضرها من يستطيع أن يقول «هذا الخيار لن ينجح عندكم» ويتحمّل الجواب.
والثالث أن ما بعد التشغيل هو الاختبار الحقيقي. الحضور المحلي يعني أن من يتولى المشكلة بعد الإطلاق يعرف بيئتكم ولا يبدأ من الصفر في كل مرة.
وما لا يعنيه الحضور المحلي: أنه بديل عن الكفاءة. مكتبٌ قريب بفريق لا يعرف مجالكم أسوأ من فريق بعيد يعرفه — والترتيب الصحيح أن تشترطوا الاثنين وتبدأوا بالكفاءة.

أننا نكتب المعايير معكم قبل أن نقيّم أي منتج، وتوقّعون عليها — فالمعايير التي تُكتب بعد معرفة المرشحين تميل إلى وصف المرشح الذي كان الكاتب يفضّله سلفًا.
وأن كل توصية تصحبها شروط عكسها: بيان صريح بما يجب أن يصح ليكون الجواب الآخر هو الصحيح. توصية بلا هذا الشرط رأيٌ لا تحليل.
وأن «أبقوا ما لديكم» نتيجة نصل إليها ونسجّلها نتيجةً. وهذه أصعب الثلاثة على الادعاء وأسهلها على الاختبار: اسألوا أي مستشار عن آخر مرة أوصى فيها بعدم الشراء، وأصغوا إلى التفصيل.
الوصف هنا للشكل لا للأسماء، ولا نُدرج قائمة عملاء في هذه الصفحة. مؤسسات كبرى تدير أنظمة متعددة وتحتاج رقمًا واحدًا متفقًا عليه. ومجموعات متعددة الكيانات تقرر هل توحّد أم تترك كل كيان على حاله. وجهات في قطاعات يتقدم فيها المتطلب التنظيمي على الرغبة في التغيير. وفرق تقنية طُلب منها تبرير قرار أمام مجلس وتحتاج حجة تصمد أمام السؤال.
